Let’s Wrap!
Our valiant volunteers have been collecting shoeboxes all year, and we’ll be outside St. Francis parish after all the Masses this weekend (Oct 29/30) handing out boxes, tape, and wrapping paper. We have more shoeboxes this year than we’ve ever had before, so we hope you’ll take a box to wrap! Check out our website for hints on how to wrap boxes with attached lids. We’ll be back to collect the wrapped boxes two weeks later, Nov 12/13.
That very week is our sorting-and-packing party to fill all the boxes, November 17, 18, and 19 (the weekend before Thanksgiving). Sign up on our website or using the link in the St. Francis Flocknote to let us know when you’re coming. Drop-ins are always welcome, too.
We’re still looking for a few items to fill the boxes, too. We especially need washcloths (Costco has the best quality for the price) and toys for 2-4 year olds that will fit in a shoebox. Squishy/foam toys, plastic musical instruments, or little puzzles with big pieces are all great. Bar soap and hard candy (that won’t melt in shipping) are also appreciated.
We’re expecting to fill more boxes than ever before. Each box costs about $9 to ship; we are very grateful for donations and sponsorships to help cover the shipping.
It’s always exciting to see God bringing it all together, we can’t wait to see you there!
